The last time the Dassai Party was hosted in Paris was in October 2019. After a gap of 4 years due to the pandemic, it was held again near the summer solstice in June, on a typical summer day in Paris where it does not grow dark even at 10 p.m.

The purpose of the event was to showcase DASSAI’s commitment to “go further beyond” and demonstrate our desire to continue to face new challenges with the people of Paris and France, while strengthening our ties with the French DASSAI fans.

The party venue was Jun, a Japanese restaurant in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood in the heart of Paris. More than 80 DASSAI fans attended the standing buffet style party. A line had already formed in front of the restaurant before the doors opened at 7 p.m. When the doors opened, Chairman Sakurai greeted each guest and served them a welcome drink of Dassai 23. There were also a few joyous scenes of reunion after a long time.

When almost everyone had gathered, Chairman Sakurai shared some words and gave a toast, then Chef Hasegawa of Jun served a succession of fish-centered dishes. The sake served following the welcome drink were DEX 23, Beyond and Elegantly Tipsy. Chef Hasegawa also created dishes using Dassai sake and sakekasu (sake lees), all of which went perfectly with DASSAI.

Towards the end, 3 kinds of cheese were served to match the lineup of the day. They were carefully selected by the manager of Fromagerie Quatrehomme Martyrs, one of the best cheese specialty stores in Paris. He told everyone that DASSAI goes well not only with Japanese food but also with cheese.

Since it was a standing buffet party, guests who were unfamiliar with each other could be seen holding a glass of Dassai in their hands and discussing the taste of the sake with each other. There was even a fan that came all the way from the south of France just to attend this party. Longtime DASSAI fans were explaining the charms of Dassai to those who are still new to the brand, and there were people reading the brand books placed around the venue. It seemed that everyone had become a fan of DASSAI.

At the end of the party, all bottles were opened for refills. The most popular refill requests were for Beyond and DEX 23.

The atmosphere throughout the event was friendly and enjoyable from the beginning to the end. After the party in the long daylight of Paris, which we reluctantly bid farewell to, everyone who has become a fan of Dassai sake expressed that they will definitely come again next time. Let's meet again next year!
