DASSAI BLUE, made at the DASSAI BLUE Sake Brewery in New York by Asahi Shuzo Co., Ltd. (HQ: Iwakuni-shi, Yamaguchi, President: Kazuhiro Sakurai), which opened on 23 September 2023, has finally arrived in Japan.

DASSAI BLUE type 23 and DASSAI BLUE type 50, which are currently available in the US, will be sold in limited quantities and exclusively at a few selected stores in Japan from Tuesday April 23rd 2024.

■What is DASSAI BLUE Sake Brewery?

Asahi Shuzo Co., Ltd. began planning the construction of this brewery in 2016, the company's first overseas brewery. After twists and turns with Covid-19 pandemic and other factors, completion of the brewery was set for March 2023. In the same month, Chairman Hiroshi Sakurai moved to New York to spearhead DASSAI BLUE Sake Brewery in New York. In May, as in Japan, we began making of Junmai Dai-ginjo, using only Yamada Nishiki, and the sake was named DASSAI BLUE. Grand opening ceremony of the brewery was held on 23 September 2023 with approximately 500 participants, marking the start of DASSAI's new challenge in New York.

Since September 2023, DASSAI BLUE has been available at various restaurants and liquor stores in New York.
